Why are Eastern European countries shite at music?

Hi,

I believe that the roots of modern music come from America, but that the roots of modern American music came from all different cultures, Africa, Europe...mostly. America is a multicultural society that produces diverse music. Societies with less cultural diversity, are less inclined to produce that mix of cultural sound, that defines American music. Good music can also come from free thought, which in many countries is not well supported. China is a good example of musical potential thwarted by a controlling government, who acts like a bad pop producer, and everything sounds the same here. So in Taiwan the music is much better were they have more freedom. A good band to hear for that is F.I.R. on my space. Unique and diverse sound. Communism & Socialism do not lend well to free thought and any artistic endeavor. So coming up with something unique, is more difficult.
